Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Develop and execute Indirect Procurement Strategies that deliver competitive advantage to the business. Lead team to update strategy/execution regularly to reflect market dynamics. Including strategy to mitigate risks. 
  • Conduct Market Analyses regularly to anticipate supply market evolution to turn threats into opportunities. 
  • Be the Procurement Strategic Partner for the business. Initiate projects to benefit business needs. Ensure level of satisfaction from Stakeholders thru survey result. 
  • Develop Supplier Relationship Management strategies and regularly engage w/ key suppliers to  ensure delivery of competitive advantage. 
  • Ensure internal control and compliance process in place to follow Michelin’s guidelines, best practices. Measurable goals setting to the function that challenge Procurement to continuously improve.
  • Lead team and colleagues to speed of service and benchmark and ensure efficient and effective P2P process. Ensure high level of satisfaction from Stakeholders thru survey results. 
  • Identify, develop, and retain procurement talents

Experience required 

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration or Engineering or equivalent 
  • Over a sustained period (minimum 5 years) has demonstrated success in setting direction and increasing business performance through procurement, above the market and in the market. 
  • Has led a Procurement Department in Manufacturing sector is preferable. 
  • Has demonstrated the ability to successfully manage and guide people through tough  situations e.g. supply crisis, downsizing, “turning around”, restructuring  
  • Has demonstrated turning threats into opportunities, e.g. delivering competitive advantage in tight supply markets 
  • Has successfully led negotiations in multinational and cross market teams 
  • Has successfully led 'make or buy' studies 
  • Has been an active & successful member of Creating shared value cross functional team 
  • Has successfully managed talents  
  • The leadership experience needed for the job.
