KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRODUCTION:

  • Planning and organizing production schedules.
  • Assessing project and resource requirements.
  • Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met.
  • Determining quality control standards & monitor quality standards of product.
  • Overseeing production processes.
  • Re-negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary.
  • Selecting, ordering and purchasing materials.
  • Organizing the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment.
  • Liaising with buyers and marketing and sales staff.
  • Supervising the work of Production Team.
  • Organizing relevant training sessions for the team
  • Review and adjust the schedule where needed.
  • Manage human and material resources to meet production target.
  • Work out and implement standard operating procedures for production operations
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to.
  • Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives.
  • Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems.
  • Determine and implement improvements to the production process.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports.
  • Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement
  • Estimate production costs.
  • Set production budgets.
  • Manage production budgets.
  • Implement cost control programs.
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including procurement, distribution and management.
  • Creation of Process Flow Charts and PFEMA’s

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:

  • Identify, develop and drive continuous improvement activities and change management initiatives.
  • Identification and application of the appropriate methodology (tools) for initiatives identified.
  • Work closely with, and support, senior management colleagues to deliver a united front to the rest of the business.
  • Deliver objectives as agreed and outlined in the Performance Review process.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Lean or Six Sigma qualification preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in manufacturing leadership positions.
  • Degree in an engineering or science discipline.
  • Technical background in Plastic injection molding and/or high speed assembly machines
  • Product/process costing.
  • Forecasting – operational.
  • World class quality systems.
  • ISO 9001, ISO 14001.
  • GMP (good manufacturing practices).
  • Supply chain best practices.
  • Distribution & logistics.
  • Six Sigma.
  • Lean manufacturing.
  • Quality Audits.
  • Managing operational relationships with customers
  • Project management.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to liaise at all levels of the business.
